In India women are worshipped, she is epitome of beauty and sacrifice, yet she is not recognized truly and lacks the status which she is meant for. Even today the society cast aspersions. It is indeed depressing and heart-wrenching to see numerous cases of female foeticide in a country like India where women like Indira Gandhi, Lata Mangeshkar have received warm accolade. In male-dominating society like India off lately Women has found her place and is trying hard to keep pace with it. Time is changing and so is her determination.

“A Woman is like a tea -bag you never know how strong she is until she gets in hot water”. Kiran Mazumdar Shaw the first Indian women entrepreneur who started Biocon India in garage of her rented house and spearheaded it to fully integrated Bio-pharmaceutical company, initially she faced many challenges like getting banks to fund her venture and they wanting to have her father as guarantor and Kiran disagreed on principle.

Chitra Ramakrishna is first woman MD & CE of NSE, her tireless endeavor has ensured it has scaled to heights.

But are Women standing against Women? When Ace shuttler, Saina Nehwal was born her grandmother lamented and refused to have a glance at her, yet her parents supported her.

Saina Nehwal’s grandmother wept when she was born and the whole country cried joyously when she won Olympic medal whose tears count the most?? It is this question which arises from the fuss.

It is high time that women get support not only from her family, spouse but also from other women. Like Chanda Kochhar MD, CEO, ICICI Bank who joined in as management trainee and reached to where today she is her mother supported her to hilt.

Women had and will always be asked to strike a balance between her personal and professional life and it would be possible only when everyone join hands. Today’s women unlike erstwhile philosophy of all bark and no bite of man she hit the nail on head.

Look at the likes of Vidya Balan who is being appointed as Brand Ambassador of Total Sanitation programme, Madhuri Dixit- Goodwill Ambassador Advocate for child and Women’s right or Sania Mirza-UN Women’s Goodwill Ambassador for South Asia.

Indeed this paradigm shift in ideology of people will occur through Education, good social and moral values. As it is rightly said by Swamivivekanand that you teach man a lesson you teach one and you teach Women you teach a whole nation.

It’s time that women disenchant man that she is not synonym of weak!! She is juggernaut, evangelical in her approach. She is clothed in strength and dignity and she laughs without fear of the future.

It is the sole responsibility of women as an individual to fight for her rights and work hard not worrying about repercussions.

“Dare to be free, dare to go as far as your thoughts leads and dare to carry that out in your Life”

यत्र नार्यस्तु पूज्यन्ते रमन्ते तत्र देवताः

    यत्रैतास्तु  पूज्यन्ते सर्वास्तत्राफलाः क्रियाः

Meaning the divine are extremely happy where women are respected; where they are not, all actions are fruitless.

Cherish womanhood.

Happy Women’s Day!!
