VS Achuthanandan, the 91-year-old Leader of the Opposition in the Kerala Assembly, former Chief Minister and a founding member of the CPI(M), has been effectively sidelined from the party's internal affairs.
Besides Achuthanandan, former minister P.K. Gurdasan and Left Democratic Front convenor Vaikom Viswan were dropped form the secretariat.
They were replaced by M.M. Mani, K.J. Thomas and T.P. Ramakrishnan.
