'Mission Indradhanush', the unique project launched by the Centre

'Mission Indradhanush', the unique project launched by the Centre, to bring all children under Immunization by 2020, has been launched in six districts of West Bengal. The districts are the North and South 24 Parganas, Birbhum, Bardwan, Murshidabad and North Dinajpur, where children are either partially immunized or not immunized at all. Here is a report.

"To meet the target the State Health Department, the nodal agency for implementing the scheme is organizing special camps in the blocks of the concerned districts. The week long monthly camps, which began on April this year, will continue till July 2015. The co-ordinator of the project Dr. Ajoy Chakraborty narrated the ongoing work under Mission Indradhanush.
The immunization coverage in the state stands at present around 80 percent where over 3 lakh children are partially immunized or not immunized at all. "
