“A
dream is not that which you see while sleeping, it is something that doesn't let
you sleep.”
APJ Abdul Kalam teacher, eminent scientist, prolific
poet, a patriot Indian and above all a humble human being.
India’s only apolitical president with nape-length
grey bob, twinkling eyes and a smiling face that ruled hearts worldwide. For a
person who sold newspapers on station to aeronautical engineer to project
director of India’s first satellite launch vehicle to be the President of
largest democracy of world, receiving Bharat Ratna the highest civilian honour
the journey indeed has been rewarding and full of interesting twists and turns.
The spark in him has ignited so many minds. Even at
the age of 83 he used to wake up early in morning and work tirelessly. He died
while delivering a lecture to students something which he enjoyed and loved the
most- teaching. There has not been any president so far who even after completing
his tenure was so popular. Indeed he has left a void in heart of each of his
admirer which cannot be filled.
People from all walks of life looked up to him. He
was always a darling among students; he walked into educational institutions to
deafening cheers and applause. For science students he was no short than an encyclopaedia.
There are no qualms that if he had been alive then Made in India campaign would
have reach to new heights.
But does this all end here, all mourning, sorrows
would just be confined to a single day, headlines of print and electronic
media. This is not what at least he wanted. The legacy which he has left behind
need to be carry forward by the younger generation of country. The projects
which he wanted to desperately work on like Vision 2020, corruption-free country
should be worked upon enthusiastically. For this only be the true manner in
which we can pay our encomium to visionary called APJ Abdul Kalam.
You will always be missed.
