With the aim to promote sports among the womenfolk, the Poumai women organization Kohima (PWOK) organized annual get-together cum sports meet at D. Khel ground Seikhazou Kohima on Saturday.
In the football match, Tungam village bagged the first prize (Rs. 5000), the PWOK executives received second prize (Rs. 3000) and Saranamai village third prize (Rs. 2000).
In volleyball, PWOK executives, Baptist women and Koide village bagged 1st (Rs. 3000), 2nd (Rs. 2000) and and 3rd prize (Rs. 1000) respectively.
In tug of war, Chaonamai village, Zhobumai village and Tungjoy village were adjudged 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes respectively. Other activities included balloon game and sack race.
Earlier, Poumai Public Union Kohima (PPUK) general secretary P.H. Shesou addressed the inaugural session. PPUK president CD John gave away the prizes to the winners and vote of thanks was proposed by PWOK president S.P. Rocinah. Around 500 womenfolk participated in the sports meet.
