Atleast seven persons, including a woman, were injured and two killed when proscribed Garo National Liberation Army militants triggered an IED blast in Meghalaya's East Garo Hills district on Saturday.
The blast was reportedly perpetrated by militants associated with the Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA). However, nothing has been confirmed yet as the more details about the blast are awaited. This comes in the wake of continued unrest in the state’s Garo hills, which was a major cause for concern for the state government throughout 2015.
