National Film Awards 2017: Zaira Wasim wins Best supporting actress for Dangal



New Delhi : Zaira Wasim, who played Aamir Khan's on-screen daughter in Dangal, has won her first national award.

16-year-old Zaira has won the best supporting actress national award for Dangal.

Kashmir-born Zaira essayed the younger version of Commonwealth Games' gold medal-winning Indian wrestler Geeta Phogat in Dangal. Her performance was lauded by critics and audience alike.

The 64th National Film awards have been announced. Sonam Kapoor starrer ‘Neerja’ has bagged the National award in the Best Hindi Film category besides being honoured with the Special Mention Award. Akshay Kumar has the honour in the Best Actor category for his film ‘Rustom’ while child-artist Zaira Wasim has won the award in the Best Supporting Actress category.

Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu starrer 'Pink' has won the Best Film on Social Issue category.
