Unable to sell the property through auction, the 17-lender consortium of banks led by the State Bank of India, will dispose Vijay Mallya's famous property named Kingfisher Villa through a negotiated sale to actor businessman Sachin Joshi for a price marginally higher than Rs 73 crore, the lower reserve price of the last auction in March 2017.
The lender consortium had been attempting to sell the palatial villa since March 2016, after getting possession of the property.
However, with the reserve price of Rs 85 crore, the villa did not find any buyers, while, bringing down the price to Rs 81 crore was also futile.
The 32-year old actor, and now owner of the villa, is the vice chairman of JMJ Group and Viking Media and Entertainment.
