D. K. Shivakumar is one of the top richest ministers

The tweet is back from December 2016 where DK Shiv kumar is seen standing in an ATM queue.
He tweeted during demonetization phase that he had to stand in the queue to get Rs. 2000 note. Being a politician, he knows how to pass a message to masses.

D. K. Shivakumar is one of the top richest ministers of India. In 2013 Assembly Election, he had declared assets worth Rs. 251 Crores in the election affidavit. This figure was 75 Crores in 2008 election. The astronomical rise in his net asset that he shows in the election affidavit is just a glimpse of what he has. The Income Tax raids on his various premises scattered throughout India didn’t surprise anyone. Even D. K. Shivakumar says that he was expecting IT raids. Still he couldn’t remove Rs. 11 Crores out of his home.

He is running a school and an engineering collge named Global Academy of Technology. He made his career in politics under the influence of veteran S. M. KrishnaHe was the cooperation minister during the helm of S. M. Krishna and was, in fact, termed as the ‘Shadow CM’.

According to India today The I-T department has recovered undisclosed income worth Rs 300 crore during raids conducted on the premises of Karnataka minister DK Shivakumar. Off the 300 crore, 100 crore belongs to Shivakumar and his family.

The figures are likely to go up as investigation progresses and assessments are made. Cash and jewellery worth Rs 15 crore was seized during the searches. Incriminating documents have also been found.

The money so far confiscated is from different locations where the raids were conducted. The panchnama documents leaked to the media are of the places where cash was not recovered.

He appeared before the Income-Tax Department here on Monday. The Minister, who came to the I-T office here along with his brother and Bengaluru Rural MP DK Suresh, said the officials might call him again, whenever required.
