JSSC Junior Engineer Recruitment, 2017 - 18: Notification and Exam Date

Jharkhand State Service Commission (JSSC) is coming out with a major recruitment drive for Junior Engineer in the Water Resource Department. In all, 415 Junior Engineers belonging to Civil Branch is going to be recommended in due time.



In a press release, the Government of Jharkhand, has said that the Personnel Secretary Nidhi Khare has sent the missive to JSSC to start the process for the direct recruitment of 415 JEs.t should be noted that only 100 posts will be available through direct recruitment. The remaining 315 posts of JEs will be filled through backlog vacancies.


Following is the breakup of number of posts as per different categories:


General: 68
ST: 279
SC: 47
BC -1: 03
BC – 2: 18



Apart from that, 12 seats will be reserved for physically handicapped and 20 seats (horizontal reservation) will be reserved for women candidates. It will apply only for direct recruitment, not for backlog vacancies.


Obviously, the number of seats for General or Unreserved category is low. But, you should remember that the majority of seats are going to be filled for backlog candidates and hence this discrepancy was bound to happen.




Educational Qualification for JE Civil



The minimum educational qualification for this post will be diploma from any institute in India that is recognized by Government of India or AICTE.




Age


The minimum age for this post will be 19 years. The maximum age for General Category candidate will be 35 years with subsequent relaxation to other categories candidates as per prevailing rules.


It must be noted here that candidates belonging to Jharkhand will be eligible for reservation. Candidates from other states will be treated in the Unreserved Quota.




Notification and Exam Date for JE Civil



JSSC will issue the notification for this post in the month of December. The preliminary examination is expected to be scheduled at the second Sunday of February, 2018.
