YouTube will hire more reviewers to censor extremist content

YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki said her company would expand its content moderation team to more than 10,000 in 2018. “In the last few weeks we’ve used machine learning to help human reviewers find and terminate hundreds of accounts and shut down hundreds of thousands of comments,” she said. YouTube is under increased scrutiny over its lack of policing around content aimed at children, obscene comments on videos of children and horrifying search suggestions, Techcrunch reports.
