BHOPAL: According to a report published by Times of India, a journalism student, who was caught by crime branch sleuths on Wednesday for allegedly blackmailing Congress MLA Hemant Katare, was produced in the court of judicial magistrate first class (JMFC) Prakash Uike and sent to jail on judicial custody. Hemant Katare is elder Son of Late Shri. Satyadev Katare who was a senior politican.
The accused was caught while accepting Rs 5 lakh from the Congress MLA who she was allegedly blackmailing, claiming she had his 'objectionable' video which she would make viral, if he failed to concede her demands. She was demanding Rs 2 crore from Katare, who lodged a complaint with the police.
Crime branch of Bhopal police laid a trap and caught her while she was taking Rs five lakh from the Congress legislator on Wednesday. Her male accomplice is still absconding.
