Another former Chief Minister JagannathMishra, Former Bihar minister Vidyasagar Nishad, ex-Bihar Assembly PAC chief Jagdish Sharma, former MLAs DhruvBhagat and R K Rana and three ex-IAS officers are also among the 50 persons who have been convicted.
Lalu Yadav has been sentenced to five years in jail & has to pay a fine of Rs 5 lakh. Jagannath Mishra has also GOT 5 years jail term. Of the total 76 accused, 14 had died, three turned approvers, one is absconding and two others were already convicted.
Out of the remaining 56 accused, two government servants and four fodder suppliers were acquitted.
And after the verdict leaders across the political spectrum slammed LaluYadav though , RJD says they will approach the higher court .
On January 6, the RJD leader was sentenced to three-and-a-half years in jail and fined Rs 10 lakh by another CBI judge in a fodder scam case relating to fraudulent withdrawal of Rs 84. 54 lakh from the Deoghar Treasury 21 years ago.
Lalu had been convicted in the first fodder scam case involving withdrawal of Rs37.7 crore from Chaibasa treasury on September 30, 2013 and was awarded five years jail term.
He faces another two scam cases for illegal withdrawal of Rs 3.31 crore from the Dumka Treasury and Rs139.39 crore from the Doranda Treasury.
Fodder scam is Bihar's biggest corruption scandal . Following this Lalu Yadav had to resign from his post.
