BHOPAL : The state government is trying its best to save Hemant Katare, who had entered the Vidhan Sabha a couple months after winning by-polls from Ater constituency in Bhind district, as the Congress nominee.
Three videos of the woman who has been arrested on the charge of blackmailing the MLA have surfaced so far. On Saturday, a video of her mother also came into circulation. Katare is busy defending himself. Screenshots of his WhatsApp chats with the woman have also come to the fore. A video of Vikramjit Singh, a co-accused in the case, is also doing the rounds on the social media, in which he claims that the woman had close relations with Katare.The cops have accessed the call details of the woman but have refused to say whether she used to converse with Katare. In the video released before her arrest, the woman blames Katare but in the subsequent one, she gives a clean-chit to him.
The police are yet to reveal whether the woman was in a relationship with Katare. They have yet to contact the cyber cell for collecting and analysing the electronic evidence that has come to the fore in the case. It seems as if the police hastily took action against the woman to prevent incriminating evidence against Katare from coming to light.
