India has its work cut out to woo global electric vehicle-makers

India has its work cut out to woo global electric vehicle-makers. The India units of Renault, Ford Motor, Hyundai and Mercedes Benz are not bringing their e-cars here as yetfor want of a detailed policy roadmap, especially on the infrastructure side. “If the manufacturers have to invest in power supply on the highways and so forth, then I don’t think anybody in the automotive industry will be able to do that,” said Roland Folger, CEO of Mercedes Benz India. By 2030, India wants to sell only e-vehicles.
