An IndiaSpend report covering the country's 10 most populous cities — including metros like Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, and Chennai — shows that 22% children under five are stunted, 21.4% are underweight and 14% are wasted. Reasons range from poverty and illiteracy to feeding patterns and government service delivery. Another recent report by IndiaSpend said that only one in 10 Indian children under two years gets adequate nutrition.
