NEW DELHI: In a day of dramatic developments, which saw a last-ditch attempt by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to pacify BJP's sulking partner, TDP, over the issue of special status for Andhra Pradesh, two Union ministers from N Chandrababu Naidu's party tendered their resignation to the PM.
Here are the key developments.
* Two TDP ministers, P Ashok Gajapati Raju and YS Chowdary, met PM Modi at his residence in New Delhi over the issue of special status to Andhra Pradesh and tendered their resignation to the PM, citing "unavoidable circumstances".
* The two ministers held a press conference after meeting PM Modi and said that their resignation doesn't mean they are quitting NDA.
"We will continue to be a part of the NDA but not take up any ministerial positions. I don't think there is anything wrong in that," said Chowdhary.
