Citing unidentified officials, PTI reports that the government is planning a nationwide launch of "citizen-centric portals." The web-based platform will allow people to register police complaints against seven crimes initially, besides services such as verification of prospective employees and tenants, vehicle theft reports, and lost and found articles. More than 90% police stations are entering details of all FIRs in a
pan-India network, enabling investigators to access crime data seamlessly.
