Beware Jobseekers: Indian job portal CEO Ajay Kolla arrested for recruitment racket

The Cyberabad Police arrested CEO Ajay Kolla and 13 other employees for duping over 1 lakh jobseekers of nearly ₹70 crore. The modus operandi: collecting money from applicants for preparing and “forwarding” résumés and landing interviews, and then conducting fake telephonic interactions, impersonating officials of global firms. As many as 2.85 crore people from India, the Middle East, and a dozen other countries had registered with Wisdom Jobs, the police said, adding nearly 20,000 Indian jobseekers were signing up on the portal every day.

The modus operandi:
1. Collecting money from applicants for preparing and “forwarding” résumés

3. Conducting fake telephonic interactions 
4. impersonating officials of global firms.
