Following a request from the CB-CID police, the Coimbatore judicial magistrate granted four days police custody for the main accused in the Pollachi sexual assault case, Thirunavukkarasu. However, the request for custody was given by the CB-CID before the case was handed over by the government to the CBI.
Pollachi Sexual Assault is one of the most heinous crimes against women in the history of modern India. Four young men had sexually molested more than 150 young girls in Pollachi. It is even painful to note than only one woman has come forward to report the crime. That’s why many believe that the figure may be even more than 200 girls.Thirunavukkarasu is the leader of this gang. He was arrested quite late and only after making a video viral over WhatsApp. The modus operandi of the gang used to be quite simple. Thirunavukkarasu being smart and tech savvy used to befriend a girl. The next step would be making physical relationship and filming the act. And, then they used to force the girl to give money and make physical relationship with all four guys.
