Actor-turned-politician and Bharatiya Janata Party's Lok Sabha election candidate from Uttar Pradesh's Rampur Jaya Prada today said senior Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Azam Khan should not be allowed to contest the ongoing Lok Sabha elections over his remarks on her.Reacting to Azam Khan's remarks on her, Jaya Prada said that the Samajwadi Party should not be allowed to contest the Lok Sabha elections.
An FIR was filed against Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan on Monday for his alleged 'khaki underwear' remark directed at actor-turned politician Jaya Prada.
On Sunday, the SP leader made the purported remark at an election rally in Rampur, where Jaya Prada is pitted against him on a BJP ticket in the Lok Sabha elections.
Mr Khan, however, claimed he didn't refer to Jaya Prada in his speech, and said he will not contest the elections if proven guilty.
"I haven't named anyone. I know what I should say. If anyone can prove that I have named anyone anywhere and insulted anyone, then I'll not contest elections," he told news agency ANI.
