Payal Tadvi coming from the Tribal category in rural areas commits suicide after casteist slurs and torture by seniors, identified as Dr. Hema Ahuja, Dr. Bhakti Mehar, and Dr. Ankita Khandelwal.
Action Taken By the Government
Deepak Kundal who is Assistant Commissioner of Police in Agripada division has registered a case under Section 306 (abetment of suicide) of the Indian Penal Code and other relevant sections of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, the Maharashtra Prohibition of Ragging Act, and IT Act. They have asked the hospital administration to cooperate with them.
