When India's Defense Minister Rajnath Singh first went to France to take delivery of the Rafale fighter aircraft, he first worshiped the fighter aircraft.
In France's Marinac, Rajnath Singh while worshiping Rafale wrote OM on it, offered coconut and also kept lemons under the wheels.
He tweeted tweeting its pictures and wrote that 'worshiping weapons on the occasion of Dashami has been the ancient tradition of India'.
Rajnath Singh's son and BJP leader Pankaj Singh, while sharing the pictures, has said that 'every weapon is worshiped' on Rafal 'is a matter of happiness and pride for every Indian'.
Moment of immense pride and joy for each and every Indian to witness Honourable Raksha Mantri Shri @rajnathsingh Ji perform Shastra Puja on the #Rafale combat jet that was officially handed over to India on the auspicious day of Dussehra. pic.twitter.com/O6I4zBsYPe— Pankaj Singh (@PankajSinghBJP) October 8, 2019
While some people on social media are calling it a part of the Indian tradition, some are calling it wrong by saying that doing so was not only unnecessary but it was also against the country's sense of secularism. Some people are also taking a nip on it.
Currently, hash tags like #Rafale, #RafaleOurPide, #Politics #ShastraPuja and #Nibu are trending on Twitter.
