Why did Political Analyst Prashant Kishore refused to Join Congress Party ?

Prashant Kishor is a political strategist and business tactician. Kishor has worked as a political strategist for BJP, INC, AAP, YSRCP , DMK and TMC. Prashant Kishor is a sought-after Indian election strategist. He came to the fore when his political campaign to help then Gujarat CM Narendra Modi was successful in the 2012 Assembly Elections.
Kishor initially worked with the United Nations for eight years as he was trained in public health before entering Indian politics. After the 2014 elections, he parted roads with Modi and worked with Nitish Kumar in 2015 to help him win a third term as Bihar Chief Minister in the 2015 Assembly Elections. The Congress party hired him for the 2017 Punjab Assembly elections. Kishor was appointed as an advisor of All India Trinamool Congress for the 2021 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election and as DMK strategist for Tamil Nadu elections

Announcing the ‘deal breaker’, Congress General Secretary Randeep Surjewala tweeted: “Following a presentation & discussions with Sh. Prashant Kishor, Congress President has constituted a Empowered Action Group 2024 & invited him to join the party as part of the group with defined responsibility. He declined. We appreciate his efforts & suggestion(s) given to (the) party.”

Prashant Kishor also owns company called IPAC which provides data points to political parties ,  IPAC’s new assignment with the Telangana Rashtra Samithi is also seen as a reason for this backoff.

However this time he met Congress Party leaders and shown interest to join Congress Party. The meeting was not so fruitful as expected and he made a tweet stating that the Congress party is capable of revival on its own and does not need him.

In an interview with BBC and other national media's , PK shared his thoughts with the viewers.

Prashant kishore discussed with top congress leaders on the current situation of the party. PK is completely fine with it,  Congress wanted PK to join in the empowered action group (EAG). PK had problem with EAG because he was not clear with the purpose of the Executive body  . This also make him unclear about the deliverables or expectation from this EAG body.  PK feels this EAG body is not aligned with Congress parties constitutional values, this may cause conflicts in future.

In a report by Hindustan times, PK wanted to report to Sonia Gandhi directly but Congress wanted him to make the recommendation  to the EAG panel. He also wanted to lead alliance information talk with KCR , Jagan and Mamta, said it was necessary to defeat Modi.
