LIC's Net Income Rises Manifold to Rs. 6334.2 Crore in Q3

Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has reported a substantial jump in its net income to Rs 6,334.2 crore in the third quarter of this fiscal year. This is an immense increase from the net income of Rs 3,743.3 crore reported in the same period last year. The company's total income in the October-December quarter rose to Rs 1.36 lakh crore from Rs 1.14 lakh crore reported in the same quarter last year. The company's investment income grew to Rs 1.12 lakh crore from Rs 94,491.3 crore in the year-ago period. The growth of LIC was aided by strong performance of its investment portfolio, which saw a growth of around 10 per cent over the same period last year. The company's total assets under management grew to Rs 28.6 lakh crore as of December 31, 2020, from Rs 26.3 lakh crore a year ago, showing a growth of 8.3 per cent.
