President Joe Biden has reportedly invited Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a state visit to the US
Prime Minister Narendra Modi's political image is expected to improve as he prepares for a state visit to the White House in the summer. Despite visiting the US multiple times since becoming prime minister, these trips were primarily for official or working purposes and were often during trips to the United Nations in New York. This will be his first state visit, considered to be the highest level of friendly relations between two sovereign states and marked by official ceremonies and a state dinner banquet.
President Joe Biden has reportedly invited Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a state visit to the US. The visit, which would be Modi's first state visit to the US, is being planned for June or July, ahead of India's hosting of the G-20 summit in September. The state visit is considered a significant demonstration of friendly relations between two sovereign states and will include official ceremonies and a state banquet. It will also include an address to the joint session of Congress. The invitation is part of the efforts to strengthen bilateral ties and the launch of a Critical and Emerging Technologies (iCET) initiative. The two sides met under the U.S.-India Civil Space Joint Working Group to discuss collaboration in various areas, including Earth and space science and human space exploration. A new Implementation Arrangement for a research agency partnership between the National Science Foundation and Indian science agencies was signed to expand collaboration in areas such as artificial intelligence and quantum technologies
