Amrit Pal singh surrenders in Moga Punjab

Amritpal Singh, a radical preacher and a supporter of the Khalistan separatist movement, surrendered to the police after addressing a gathering at a gurdwara in Moga, Punjab, this morning. He was subsequently flown to Dibrugarh in Assam, where eight of his associates, including his main aide Papalpreet Singh, have already been detained under the National Security Act. This law permits detention for up to a year without any charges.
