ED Raids Residences Linked to Shiv Sena Leader Ravindra Waikar, Alleging Money Laundering in Jogeshwari Hotel Construction
In a significant operation, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is conducting raids at various locations associated with Ravindra Waikar, a close associate of Shiv Sena (UBT) leader and former Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. The ED is examining potential money laundering charges related to alleged irregularities in the construction of a high-end hotel in Mumbai's Jogeshwari area.
Waikar, aged 64, holds the position of a four-term Corporator in the Brihan Mumbai Municipal Corporation and has served as a three-term MLA representing Jogeshwari East. A seasoned figure in Mumbai politics, Waikar has maintained proximity to the Thackeray family, opting to align with them following the party's split in June 2022.
As of now, Waikar has refrained from providing any comments on the ongoing developments. Meanwhile, Maharashtra Chief Minister and Shiv Sena Chief Leader Eknath Shinde conveyed, "If one is clean, there is nothing to be worried about."
