'No door is permanently closed in politics' - Sushil Modi on Nitish Kumar making his way back to BJP

"Political doors are never permanently shut," remarked BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi, who had previously asserted that all doors were closed for Nitish Kumar's return to the NDA. Modi, who once served as Nitish Kumar's deputy and shared a strong rapport with the JD(U) chief, had become vocal in criticizing the Bihar chief minister after Nitish's separation from the BJP in 2022.

In response to the recent developments, Sushil Modi stated, "When it comes to Nitish Kumar or the JD(U), political doors are never permanently closed. Closed doors may open when the time is right, but the decision on whether they will open or not lies with our central leadership."

Amidst speculation of discord in Bihar, leaders from both the INC and BJP are making efforts to attract Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav suggested that the JD(U) chief could be the potential prime ministerial candidate for the INC bloc. On the other hand, BJP MP and former Bihar deputy CM Sushil Modi remarked, "Political doors are never permanently closed," alluding to the possibility of reconciliation.

Sushil Kumar Modi, a leader in the state, has been talking with top members of the BJP. He told reporters that in politics, doors are never closed forever for anyone. They open and close as needed. When asked about the party's previous stance that doors were closed for Kumar after he ended ties with the BJP in August 2022, Modi said, "As far as Kumar or the JD(U) are concerned, doors are never permanently closed in politics. Whether they will open or not is for our central leadership to decide."

Similarly, BJP leader Giriraj Singh said today, "The central leadership (of BJP) will decide about it (Nitish Kumar's return to NDA). Whatever decision the central leadership makes, we will welcome it."
