As of January 1, 2024, Sh. Ravindra Kumar Tyagi has assumed the role of Chairman and Managing Director at Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), a Maharatna Central Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Power, Government of India. Previously serving as the Director (Operations) of the company, Shri Tyagi brings over 33 years of extensive experience in the power sector, having held significant positions in leading Central Public Sector Undertakings (CPSUs).
Throughout his career at POWERGRID, Shri Tyagi has undertaken diverse responsibilities in various business domains, including Asset Management, Engineering, Business Development (both domestic and overseas), Telecom, Load Despatch & Communication, NTAMC, DMS, and served as the Head of POWERGRID’s North Eastern Region.
Shri Tyagi holds an Electrical Engineering degree from Punjab Engineering College (PEC), Chandigarh, and an M. Tech. in Energy Studies from IIT, Delhi. He is a "Fulbright Scholar" from Carnegie Mellon University, USA, and has authored over 50 technical papers presented in National and International conferences. His contributions extend to representing India in numerous International technical committees for the formulation of various Technical Standards. Shri Tyagi has garnered several national and international recognitions in acknowledgment of his notable achievements.
