Speculations are rife regarding the potential entry of Anand Mishra, former Superintendent of Police of Lakhimpur district in Assam, into the realm of politics with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).


Anand Mishra is a former IPS officer who resigned from his post as the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Lakhimpur district in Assam. He was an officer of the Assam-Meghalaya cadre of the 2011 batch. He cited his social and personal goals in life as the reason for his resignation. He also expressed his desire to work for the betterment of his home state of Bihar. There are speculations that he may join the BJP and contest the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
