Bansuri Swaraj, Daughter of Former Minister Sushma Swaraj, Takes Political Plunge as BJP Candidate for New Delhi Lok Sabha Seat

Bansuri Swaraj, daughter of the former Union minister Sushma Swaraj, is gearing up for her inaugural foray into electoral politics. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has officially nominated Bansuri Swaraj as its candidate for the New Delhi Lok Sabha seat, as revealed in the party's initial list of 195 candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. Expressing her gratitude, Bansuri Swaraj acknowledged Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP national chief JP Nadda, and every BJP member for granting her this opportunity. Embracing the party's resolve of 'ab ki baar 400 paar,' she affirmed that every BJP worker would strive to secure Narendra Modi's third term as the 'PradhanSewak.'



An accomplished advocate with over 15 years of experience in the legal profession, Bansuri Swaraj has been enrolled with the Bar Council of Delhi since 2007. Holding a Bachelor's degree in English Literature from the University of Warwick, she pursued her law degree at the BPP Law School in London. Qualifying as a Barrister at Law and being called to the bar from the Hon’ble Inn of Inner Temple, London, she also possesses a Masters of Studies degree from St. Catherine's College at the University of Oxford.


Bansuri Swaraj's diverse legal expertise spans contentious litigation involving contracts, real estate, tax, international commercial arbitrations, and criminal trials. Last year, she was appointed as the co-convenor of the BJP Delhi's legal cell. Additionally, the W20 (Women 20) India website highlights her role as the Additional Advocate General for the State of Haryana, alongside managing her private practice.
