Mumbai: Iconic figure, Amitabh Bachchan, admitted to Kokilaben Hospital for angioplasty

After reports surfaced regarding his hospital stay, Bachchan conveyed his appreciation via a message shared on his verified social media profile.

Amitabh Bachchan, the veteran actor, underwent an angioplasty procedure at Mumbai's Kokilaben Hospital, reportedly being admitted early Friday morning. As of now, neither the hospital nor the family has issued an official statement.

In response to his hospitalization, Bachchan conveyed his gratitude via a post on his verified social media account. His message, "T 4950 - in gratitude ever ..", was accompanied by a video featuring himself and his son, Abhishek Bachchan, celebrating their team's advancement to the finals in the Indian Street Premier League (ISPL).

This marks Bachchan's second surgical intervention this year. In January, he underwent wrist surgery, a result of an injury sustained while filming "Kalki 2898 AD" in Hyderabad last year. During the same incident, the actor also strained his rib cartilage and suffered a torn muscle, which impeded his attendance at the San Diego Comic Con for the film's promotion.

On the professional front, Bachchan is gearing up for the release of "Kalki 2898 AD", featuring co-stars Prabhas, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, and Disha Patani, scheduled for May 9. Additionally, he is set to appear in the upcoming film, "Section 84".
