Tawa Reservoir in Madhya Pradesh Designated as Ramsar Site, Joins Elite List of Indian Wetlands

The Tawa Reservoir in Narmadapuram district has been designated as a Ramsar site, making it one of three Indian wetlands to receive this recognition on Wednesday. Alongside Tawa Reservoir, the Nanjarayan Bird Sanctuary and the Kazhuveli Bird Sanctuary in Tamil Nadu were also granted Ramsar site status.
This designation marks Tawa Reservoir as the fifth wetland of international importance in Madhya Pradesh, joining Bhopal’s Bhoj Wetland, Sirpur Lake, Yashwant Sagar Lake (both in Indore), and Sankya Sagar Lake inside Madhav National Park in Shivpuri. Notably, Bhopal's Upper Lake (Bhoj Wetland) is the oldest Ramsar site in the state

It's wonderful to see such efforts in wetland conservation, as these ecosystems play a crucial role in maintaining biodiversity and supporting local communities. What are your thoughts on this achievement?
