Shocking Revelation in Kerala: 18-Year-Old Dalit Athlete Alleges Gang Rape by 62 Men Over Five Years
In a deeply disturbing revelation from Kerala's Pathanamthitta district, an 18-year-old Dalit athlete has come forward with allegations of being sexually abused and gang-raped by 62 men over the course of five years, starting from when she was just 13. DIG S. Ajeetha Begum, who is overseeing the investigation, said that 30 FIRs have been registered in connection with the alleged sexual assault of the girl and out of the 59 accused mentioned in the cases, 44 have been arrested.

The survivor, identified as a district-level athlete, has accused her peers, including neighbors, sports coaches, and even friends of her father, of perpetrating the abuse. The traumatic ordeal reportedly began with molestation by a neighbor who took sexually explicit photographs of her at age 13. This initial abuse escalated over the years, with her alleging three separate instances of gang rape in the last five years.
The abuse allegedly continued through her involvement in sports camps, where her interactions with coaches and classmates were exploited. Her father's mobile phone was used to communicate with some of the accused, which has now become a critical piece of evidence in the ongoing investigation.
Legal Actions Taken:
The Kerala Police have responded rapidly, arresting 44 individuals so far, with some of the accused being minors. The investigation has led to the registration of 29 FIRs (First Information Reports) at various police stations in the district.
