New Delhi:8th Feb 2025
In the ongoing 2025 Delhi Assembly elections, Avadh Ojha, a well-known civil services exam tutor recently recruited by the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), is currently trailing in the Patparganj constituency.
Ojha took over from Manish Sisodia, a senior AAP figure who secured victories in the 2013, 2015, and 2020 elections for this seat but moved to contest from Jangpura this year. Despite the high expectations due to Ojha's profile and Sisodia's previous success, the latest vote counts show Ojha significantly behind BJP's Ravinder Negi.
As of 11:10 AM, Negi leads with 30,891 votes against Ojha's 18,902, with Congress candidate Anil Chaudhary trailing far behind. Patparganj was anticipated to be a stronghold for Ojha, particularly given Sisodia's assertion that the area represents "the heart of the education revolution in Delhi."
