Copilot in SharePoint helps you work with your files and pages more easily. You can ask questions, run tasks, and create sites, pages, reports, and Office files just by typing normal sentences. Create live SharePoint dashboardsCopilot can now turn a SharePoint list (or an Excel or CSV file) into a live dashboard. The dashboard is an interactive report that stays linked to the original list. When the list changes, the dashboard updates automatically when you open it. You no longer need to export data and rebuild the report every time something changes. Why this is useful
Most AI-made dashboards become outdated right away. Now the dashboard stays connected to the real data.
Examples of what you can make:
  • A project status dashboard that shows which projects are on track, at risk, or blocked
  • An inventory tracker that shows stock levels by item or location
  • A request or approval pipeline that shows what’s pending or stuck
  • A recruiting dashboard that tracks hiring progress
  • A customer support dashboard that shows urgent cases and aging tickets
Sample prompt:
“Create an executive dashboard from this project portfolio list showing project health, milestones, risks, budget status, and owner accountability. Add interactive filters and charts that stay synchronized with the list data.”
Start Copilot prompts with a page buttonYou can now put a button on a SharePoint page that runs a custom Copilot prompt with one click. Anyone who visits the page can press the button and get the result without typing anything. Why this is useful
It puts helpful prompts right where people are already working, so they don’t have to remember what to type.
Examples:
  • A “Draft status update” button on a project page
  • A “Generate executive report” button
  • Buttons that help people find specific manuals or documents
Sample prompt for a button:
“Review deal pipeline list and filter for deals assigned to me, summarize the items closed this week into a live interactive dashboard.”
Chat is getting betterA few small improvements make chatting with Copilot smoother:
  • Type / in the chat box to quickly search for and add files, people, or meetings
  • Skill cards look cleaner and work more smoothly
  • The chat view is tidier, and it’s easier to check the sources of answers
How to try itYou need a Microsoft 365 Copilot license to use these features. You can find ready-made prompts and guides on the Copilot in SharePoint Adoption Hub.That’s everything new this month. See you next month!
