Amit Shah clean chits in the MCC violation complaints – has reportedly recused himself from all meetings on the issues.

As reported by NDTV today , Election Commissioner Ashok Lavasa has stopped attending meetings to decide on violations of the Model Code of Conduct over his "minority decisions going unrecorded". Some of his objections involve the Election Commission's clean chit to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in six instances.

The lateral hires – outliers in what’s traditionally been IAS turf – will be on a three-year contract, extendable up to five years. Former Chief Secretary Ratna Prabha joins BJP

Former Chief Secretary of Karnataka K. Ratna Prabha, the third woman to have held the post after Teresa Bhattacharya (2000) and Malathi Das (2006), joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at a public rally here on Wednesday. BJP State unit president B.S. Yeddyurappa welcomed her to the party at Supermarket area in the middle of the procession organised for filing BJP candidate Umesh Jadhav’s nomination for Kalaburagi Lok Sabha segment. BJP leaders Malikayya Guttedar, Baburao Chinchanasur, Doddappagouda Patil Naribol, B.G. Patil, N. Ravikumar, Dattatreya Patil Revoor, Basavaraj Mattimud, Ambaraya Ashtagi and other party leaders were present.

Justice N Radhakrishnan appointed new Chief Justice of Calcutta High Court

Justice T B N Radhakrishnan was Thursday sworn-in as the new Chief Justice of Calcutta High Court. West Bengal Governor K N Tripathi administered the oath of office to Justice Radhakrishnan in a solemn ceremony at the high court. The other judges of the high court and senior members of the Bar were present at the oath-taking ceremony. Justice Radhakrishnan was earlier the Chief Justice of the High Court of Hyderabad for the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh from July 7, 2018. He was sworn-in as permanent Judge of the High Court of Kerala on October 14, 2004. Enrolled on 11th December, 1983, he practised at Thiruvananthapuram, before shifting to Kerala High Court in 1988, where he dealt with cases in different branches of law, including civil, constitutional and administrative law.

Nalini Netto is 1981 batch IAS officer of Kerala cadre. She is widely regarded as one of the most honest, hardworking and people centric officers of Kerala. Her performance as Chief Secretary, Chief Electoral Officer and Home Secretary has been stupendous. As the transport secretary, she had taken stern action against a powerful minister in 2000. She is known for not making any compromises. In fact, she has recently resigned from the post of Principal Secretary to the CM of Kerala as she was being pressurized to make compromises.

Nalini comes from a very humble family. Her father was a well – known professor of Mathematics and social worker. He had always encouraged daughters to go for higher studies and dream high. The family made a sort of records when two daughters – Nalini and her cousing Girija – cracked UPSC Civil Services Examination. Girija is the current Chief Secretary of Tamil Nadu.


India's envoy to Pakistan Ajay Bisaria returning to Islamabad on 9th March 2019

New Delhi: The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), on Friday, informed that Indian High Commissioner to Pakistan Ajay Bisaria will return to Islamabad on Saturday 9th March after completing his consultations in India.

“High Commissioner of India to Pakistan Ajay Bisaria is returning to Islamabad after completing his consultations in India. He'll reach Islamabad tomorrow and resume his duties,” an official spokesperson for MEA, Raveesh Kumar said, in response to a media query about Bisaria's return to Islamabad.

Subhas Chandra Garg appointed new Finance Secretary

Economic Affairs Secretary Subhash Chandra Garg was on Friday named as the Finance Secretary, according to a Personnel Ministry order.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved designating Garg as the Finance Secretary, it said.

Garg, 58, a 1983 batch IAS officer of Rajasthan cadre, has been working as the Secretary in Department of Economic Affairs since June 2017.


As per the convention, the senior-most among the five secretaries in the Finance Ministry is designated as the Finance Secretary.

CBI chief Rishi Kumar Shukla takes charge



New Delhi: Newly-appointed Central Bureau of Investigation chief Rishi Kumar Shukla on Monday took over the reins of the probe agency. The 1983-batch IPS officer took charge at a time when the CBI is busy in a dirty battle of a turf war with the Kolkata Police over questioning of its Police Commissioner Rajeev Kumar over a Ponzi scheme scam.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has been staging a dharna in Kolkata since Sunday evening against the Centre's alleged high-handedness.

The government had appointed the former Madhya Pradesh Director General of Police as CBI director on Saturday despite a dissent note from Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge.

Shukla (58) was appointed as the CBI chief 20 days after Alok Verma was removed unceremoniously from the post following his bitter feud with Special Director Rakesh Asthana.

PM-led panel appoints Rishi K Shukla as new CBI director

Rishi Kumar Shukla has been appointed as the new director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Rishi K Shukla is an officer of 1983 cadre of the IPS. He has been appointed for a period of two years from the day of assumption of office.
The Centre announced the name of next CBI chief, ignoring the objections raised by Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge, a member of Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led selection committee, on the names of probable contenders proposed by the government.
Senior IPS officers of 1984 batch, Javeed Ahmed, Rajni Kant Misra and SS Deswal, were also said to be among the top contenders for the coveted post.
The post of the CBI chief had been lying vacant since January 10 after the unceremonious exit of Alok Verma.

President appoints senior advocates Sanjay Jain, K M Nataraj as Additional Solicitor Generals


President Ram Nath Kovind has appointed senior advocates Sanjay Jain and K M Nataraj as Additional Solicitor Generals of India for the Supreme Court. "The president is pleased to appoint Sanjay Jain, senior advocate, as Additional Solicitor General of India for the Supreme Court with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the office till June 30, 2020, or until further orders, whichever is earlier," according to an official notification issued on January 15. A similar notification appointing Nataraj as ASG was also issued. Earlier in April 2015, Nataraj was appointed as ASG for southern zone. Jain was appointed as ASG for the Delhi High Court in 2014 and had resigned from the post last year.

Sunil Kujur, a 1986-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer is New Chief Secretary Chhattisgarh



The newly-elected Congress government in Chhattisgarh replaced the state's chief secretary, Ajay Singh, with Sunil Kujur, a 1986-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, on Wednesday night in a sudden move.

According to an order issued by the government, Mr Singh, a 1983-batch IAS officer who was appointed as the chief secretary in January 2018, has been made the chairman of the Revenue Board, Bilaspur. Mr Singh was replaced by Mr Kujur, who was posted as the additional chief secretary (ACS) of Agriculture and Biotechnology, Commerce and Industry and Public Sector departments.

 Besides, two other senior IAS officers were also shifted in a major bureaucratic reshuffle late Wednesday night. Koppala Durgananda Prasad Rao, a 1988-batch IAS officer who was posted as the chairman, Revenue Board, Bilaspur, was shifted as the ACS, Agriculture and Biotechnology, and commissioner, Agriculture Production, the order said.

Ashwani Lohani retires, V K Yadav new railway board chairman



Railway Board Chairman Ashwani Lohani retired on Monday, despite strong indications that the Narendra Modi government could grant him an extension, according to an official order.

General Manager, South Central Railway, V K Yadav has been appointed the national transporter’s senior-most bureaucrat by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet. Yadav belongs to the 1980 batch of the Indian Railway Service of Electrical Engineers. He started his career as an assistant electrical engineer in February, 1982.

Lohani was appointed chairman of the Railway Board after A K Mital resigned in August last year following the derailment of the Kaifiyat Express near Auriya in Uttar Pradesh.

Sudhir Bhargava appointed new Chief Information Commissioner

The government appointed Sudhir Bhargava as the new Chief Information Commissioner in the Central Information Commission (CIC). He was previously Information Commissioner in the CIC. The government also appointed former IFS officer Yashvardhan Kumar Sinha, ex-IRS officer Vanaja N Sarna, former IAS Neeraj Kumar Gupta and former Law Secretary Suresh Chandra as Information Commissioners in the panel.

IPS officer Madhukar Shetty passes away



Senior IPS officer from the State, K. Madhukar Shetty, 47, passed away at a hospital in Hyderabad on Friday.

He was hospitalised for over a week on a suspected case of H1N1 infection-induced pneumonia. He underwent heart surgery on Wednesday and was on life support. He passed away at the hospital on Friday at around 8.30 p.m., sources said. He was last posted as Deputy Director, Sardar Vallabhai Patel National Police Academy, Hyderabad.

He was the son of renowned editor, Vaddarse Raghurama Shetty, who started the Kannada newspaper ‘Mungaru’ in the 1980s.

MP Govt transfers 48 IAS including 28 District Collectors



After the Rajasthan Government, now the newly formed Madhya Pradesh Government has transferred more than 48 IAS officers. Out of these 48, 24 are district collectors.

Manu Shrivastava, Principal Secretary, New and Renewable Energy, and MD of Urja Vikas Nigam has been given additional charge of Commercial Tax Department.

Collectors of Indore, Ujjain, Ratlam and Katni have not been transferred.


Collectors who have been transferred are Abhishek Singh to Sidhi, Tarun Pithode from Sehore to Betul, Bharat Yadav from Morena to Gwalior, O P Shrivastava from Mandsaur to Rewa.
