Starting April 1, Indians without an advanced US degree will find it tougher to get an H-1B visa.

Starting April 1, Indians without an advanced US degree will find it tougher to get an H-1B visa. That’s because the Trump administration has reversed the order of the H-1B lottery, which will result in up to 5,340 master’s degree holders fill the first wave of available slots at the expense of less qualified candidates. Experts feel the new selection methodology, which diminishes the chances of even IIT engineers securing a work visa, is at odds with the H-1B law. Wall Street Journal says the new rules are likely to be challenged in court by outsourcing firms.

Also: 600 Indian students – many from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh – have been entrapped in a US immigration racket.
