Xiaomi has scheduled a global smartphone launch event for April 23 in New Delhi, India. The company has started sending our media invites for the event that will be attended by CEO Lei Jun, president Bin Lin, and VP (global) Hugo Barra.
While the invite clearly mentions that the company will unveil a new Mi phone at the event, a message in the invite that reads "i is coming" leaves us guessing what it means.
As it's a global launch event, we rule out the possibility of the Mi Note India launch on April 23.
Xiaomi seems to be getting aggressive in the country that it had entered in July last year. The company had been selling its devices online exclusively on Flipkart until April 8 when it announced its partnership with two new e-commerce platforms Snapdeal and Amazon.
To reach out to more consumers Xiaomi has also ventured into brick and mortar stores by partnering with retail chain The Mobile Store. It has also entered into a partnership with private telecom operator Bharti Airtel.
