Delhi government - No responsibility then No responsibility now

The woman, according to the cops, was kidnapped from Sohna road in Gurugram and was allegedly gang-raped in a moving car.  A woman who was allegedly raped by three men in a moving car on the outskirts of Delhi was driven through several parts of the capital and its suburbs before she was she was thrown from the car onto the road, she has told the police.

The woman, who is in her 30s, is from Rajasthan and arrived in Gurgaon a few weeks ago. She has injuries from the assault that took place last night, but was able to accompany investigators to the road in Greater Noida where she was thrown from the car. She says she was kidnapped at about 8 pm last night from Gurgaon, home to fancy offices of multi-national firms. The three men then allegedly raped her as they drove through the capital to Greater Noida

She was found on the road by a passerby and then taken by the police to a local hospital.

The callous attitude of the government in India towards prevention of sexual violence also doesn't help much. Let us take you back to the era of Shiela Dixit Goverment.  This is Delhi CM, Sheila Dixit's statement after the Soumya murder in 2008 "one should not be adventurous".
Later when Kejriwal became chief minister he said, "I am no Sheila Dikshit. I won't let even PM (Modi) sleep peacefully. Kejriwal said he has convened a special cabinet meeting to discuss issues concerning women security and what more steps his government should take to ensure safety of people of Delhi. Today the results speak more than his words . Kejriwal's stand on Delhi's crime graph sounded similar to former CM Sheila Dikshit, who also faced massive public protest after the gangrape a 23-year-old woman in a moving bus in 2012.The question is, Why a person who is accountable for the safety of citizens can sit mum and has the heart to hear the story again and again? It is proven that to grab power, Kejriwal politicised rapes. Now using theatrics failing to deliver on promised security to women.

Delhi is always in news for the heinous crimes against women and children. Most rapes go unreported because the rape victims fear retaliation and humiliation - in India and elsewhere in the world.Indian parliamentarians have stated that the rape problem in India is being underestimated because large number of cases are not reported, even though more victims are increasingly coming out and reporting rape and sexual assaults.
