Washington, September 25: India on Monday came with a strong rebuttal at the United Nations with a young Indian diplomat accused Pakistan of using fake pictures to embellish its false narrative on Kashmir. Paulomi Tripathi, secretary with India’s permanent mission to the UN, waved photo of a martyred Kashmiri Indian Army officer to put a point of cross-border terrorism perpetrated by Pakistan at the international forum.
She held up together two photographs – one showing the army officer and the other of Palestinian woman whom Lodhi had described as a Kashmiri.
The army officer shown in the picture was Lieutenant Umar Faiyaz who was abducted and killed by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district. “This is a real picture, of Lt Ummer Fayaz, a young officer from J&K. He was brutally tortured and killed by Pakistan supported terrorists,” she said.
