Maruti Suzuki’s parent has joined hands with Toyota Motors to introduce its own electric cars in India by 2020
Suzuki will manufacture electric cars and supply some units to Toyota, which will render technical support to the project. The two companies also plan to conduct studies on car charging stations, training of technicians and systems for disposing electric car batteries. Brokerage firm Nomura India said the arrangement gives Suzuki a headstart over other auto majors in India. The government has an ambitious target of electrifying all vehicles in India by 2030.
