Bogibeel bridge is a combined road and rail bridge over the Brahmaputra river in the north eastern Indian state of Assam between Dhemaji district and Dibrugarh district, which was started in 2002 and took a total of 200 months to complete the project. Former Prime Minister and JDS chief HD Deve Gowda on Tuesday said he was disappointment at not being invited for the inauguration of the country's longest rail road bridge -- Bogibeel Bridge in Assam though he had laid the foundation stone of it.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 4.9 km long Bogibeel bridge across Brahmaputra river, built at a cost of around Rs. 5,900 crore.

The foundation stone for the project was laid by Mr Gowda when he was the prime minister in 1997.
