Indian Prime Minister praises disaster relief teams for successful ‘Operation Dost’ following earthquake in Turkey and Syria

On Monday, India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi commended the humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations carried out by the personnel involved in "Operation Dost" following the massive earthquake in Turkey and Syria. India launched "Operation Dost" on February 6 to provide aid to Turkey and Syria after a devastating earthquake hit the two countries, killing over 46,000 people.

Three NDRF teams and the Indian Army's medical team were sent to the affected countries to offer assistance. The last team of NDRF personnel returned to India on Sunday, while the Indian Army's medical team returned on Monday. During his interaction with the disaster relief teams, the prime minister praised their quick response, which reflected India's preparedness in dealing with such situations.

The prime minister also noted that the earthquake was larger than the 2001 Gujarat earthquake and stated that "Operation Dost" demonstrates India's commitment to disaster situations.
