Karnataka Home Minister warns of legal action against IPS and IAS women officers involved in public spat.

The ongoing feud between IPS and IAS women officers in Karnataka has taken a new turn, with state home minister Araga Jnanendra threatening legal action against them. This comes after IPS officer Roopa Moudgill and IAS officer Rohini Sindhuri were involved in a public spat, with Moudgill sharing personal pictures of Sindhuri on social media and accusing her of sharing those pictures with male IAS officers. Moudgill also brought up the suicide case of DK Ravi, alleging that Ravi was in love with Sindhuri and had ended his life because of her.

Expressing his displeasure over the development, Jnanendra criticized the actions of the two officers, stating that their behavior was inappropriate and that private matters should not be dragged into the public domain. He further added that the government has not turned a blind eye to the issue and that legal action will be taken against the officers.

Jnanendra stated that he had spoken to Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and the DG about the matter, and that action will be taken as per the rules. He emphasized that the officers' public behavior was undesirable and that the Chief Minister was aware of the issue.

Sindhuri, who is the current Commissioner of the State Hindu Religious and Endowments, has denied Moudgill's allegations, calling them baseless. She has stated that she will take legal action against Moudgill for sharing her personal pictures on social media.

It is noteworthy that the feud between the two officers has brought to light the long-standing rivalry between the IPS and IAS officers in Karnataka. The two services have often been at loggerheads with each other, with each vying for power and control in the state bureaucracy.
