Shri Mebanshailang R Synrem is a 2002 batch IAS officer from the Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram-Union Territories (AGMUT) cadre. He is currently serving as the Joint Secretary and Additional Director General in the Ministry of Tourism. Shri Synrem has held a variety of positions in the Government of India, including that of Director in the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, and Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Civil Aviation. He has also served as the Director of the North Eastern Council Secretariat, and was posted as the Deputy Commissioner of the North East Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from St. Stephen's College, Delhi and a Master's degree in Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, USA.
