Dance India Dance Fame Choreographer Salman Yusuff Khan Allegedly Harassed at Bengaluru Airport Over Language Issue
Salman Yusuff Khan, a well-known choreographer and Dance India Dance celebrity, recently shared an unpleasant experience he had at the Bengaluru airport. According to his account, he was allegedly harassed by an immigration officer for not speaking Kannada, despite being born in Bengaluru.
Salman took to social media and posted a video from the airport where he explained the incident in detail. He also wrote a long note to accompany the video, expressing his frustration with the officer's behavior.
In his note, Salman mentioned that the officer pointed out his name, birthplace, and father's name in his passport and proceeded to question him about his inability to speak Kannada. Salman responded by stating that he understood the language but was not fluent in it, and that his mother tongue and the country's official language was Hindi, so there was no need for him to know Kannada.
Salman was taken aback by the officer's attitude and was further irked when the officer threatened to suspect him for anything. He raised his voice and challenged the officer to try and suspect him, which made the officer quiet. Salman expressed his disappointment at the incident and the lack of support he received from airport authorities to report the incident.
Salman concluded his note by saying that he was a proud Bangalorean, but the incident was unacceptable. He believes that people should be encouraged to learn any local language and not be demeaned for not knowing it.
