Sony Music Entertainment India (SME) has appointed Vinit Thakkar as the new Managing Director of the company. Thakkar will lead SME's operations in one of the world's fastest-growing music markets and collaborate with regional and global teams to enhance the company's strategic partnerships and identify fresh growth opportunities for its artists. He will report directly to Shridhar Subramaniam, President of Corporate Strategy and Market Development for Asia and the Middle East, and will take over the position from Rajat Kakar, who is scheduled to leave at the end of this month. Shridhar expressed his excitement about Thakkar's appointment and stated that his extensive experience, strong support for artists, and focus on driving strategic and commercial growth make him an ideal fit for SME India.
