Four states, namely Odisha, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, and Andhra Pradesh, are on alert due to Cyclone Mocha
Cyclone Mocha is a cyclonic storm that formed over the Bay of Bengal on Thursday morning. It lay centred about 510 km west-southwest of Port Blair and 1,210 km south-southwest of Cox’s Bazar in Bangladesh. The Indian Meteorological Department said that Cyclone Mocha forming over the Bay of Bengal may intensify into a very severe storm by Friday, May 12 where wind speeds can reach 130 kmph.
According to the news agencies, four states are on alert in the wake of Cyclone Mocha- Odisha, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh. The Indian Meteorological Department warns of a cyclonic storm forming in the Bay of Bengal this weekend, putting several states including Tamil Nadu/Chennai, Odisha, West Bengal, and Andhra Pradesh on high alert.
